The Group is aware of an article published on Essex Live regarding the Beacon Health Group being ‘the worst surgery in Essex’ and we’re aware of the concern this may cause our patients and as such, we wanted to respond.
This article is based upon the survey data from the national GP survey – which is available below.
The article does state that we were approached for comment and that we chose not to. This is because we wanted to respond using our own voice, not theirs.
The GP survey data is based upon 119 responses – this represents less than 0.5% of our patient population. This places this survey in a place of statistical insignificance.
Since February 2025, we have surveyed 4,614 patients via our routine post appointment survey. From this we have had 92.7% of these responses back stating the surgery was either ‘Very good’ or ‘Good’ with only 4% stating the surgery as ‘Poor’ or ‘Very poor’.
Whilst we take the concerns raised in the survey seriously, we are continually working hard to deliver a better experience for our patients. We were one of the first surgeries in Essex to adopt modern cloud telephony – this was before national funding to modernise was implemented. Although only 30% of respondents said it was easy to contact us via phone, our average wait time to speak to a Receptionist is consistently below 5 minutes.
We will continue our efforts to improve our service for our patients.
